I liked the way you installed it... just that I wouldn't want mine sitting up top like that. I'm gonna have to think of something different when the time comes. I may just cover the damn trip computer since I never look at it anyways.

I also have 18% tint registered on the meter. Very difficult to see in. If I didn't have that, I'd have different thoughts about it.

did you pop the dash trim off or did you just somehow feed the wire through there until it came out on the bottom?

The vents were removed to feed the wire through and mount the unit. It's best to do it that way or else there is no way for you to get behind there and feed it through.

No worries, just shoot me a pm when you are ready. I can do this for you but you'll have to ship me your vents and unit and I return the shipping. Let me know.

Yeah, I don't have tint and probably won't be getting any for a while. Anyways, I had an idea for an alternative placement. You have email.

If you sent it to my Uvest.com email, I'll get it in the morning. Haydn has his mounted in his gauge cluster, just double sided tape I believe.

Another place someone put it was in the sunglass casing near the sunroof controls. That's pretty serious but could get annoying when trying to read.

VAFC wont reach that far, different sub harness.

The S-AFC II wiring will reach there, but not the V-AFC II. You could extend the wires, but IMO, its more trouble than its worth.

You can extend the wires of course, but yes.....straight out of the box, it will not reach.

OOmaxSE - SAFC II will reach out of the box, with no modifications to harness.

You wont know unless you hook it up, tune and see a difference.

I would if I were you. Your #'s look like mine, except mine being a slight bit leaner.

are you guys just being sarcastic?

cuz from what i've read, the AFC does not modify close loop...aka, it has nothing to do with fuel economy...those are up to the o2 sensors...

You're right... it works on % throttle and won't work for > 40% throttle AND > 3k rpms (both conditions necessary for closed loop) because the ECU is in self-learn.

But if you're running rich up top and use the AFC to pull fuel to level out the AF, wouldn't that help fuel economy? I'm still learning here...

Thats true, your leaning out the mixture....but I mean, your going WOT and running 5k+ RPMs...lots of fuel is being consumed even if you were running lean like Nmex...gas mileage is crap on the vq35s...I never ever broke 20mpg all city...man, when I think about it, I don't even think I broke 18mpg all city either...it's 17 or less ALL the time
