Check engine problem....

I have had a check engine light on my car since i changed my exhaust system, full headers back exhaust. Now my car seems to choke it self, but it only happens when it is cold, once the car is warmed up the car runs perfect. Also the service engine soon light starts to flash when its cold, anyone know what the problem could be? the only thing i could think of is either my 02 sensors or my cat that could be causin problems....

Ever try checking your codes at AutoZone?

What did you do with your o2 sensors after the header install?

I though 02 sensor's didn't affect performance.

they do if theyre not simulated i believe, the computer uses their signal to adjust the a/f ratio so if they dont work it doesnt work as well. you might as well extend them, would never hurt.

I dont know about o2 sensors, thats what i was told from autozone, but i know i need the simulators in order to get rid of the check engine light, but i still dont know the choking problem then... did anyone ever experience this before, the car tries to stall when in drive when its cold but doesnt shut off just acts like its about too....

If your car is cali spec then i believe only 2 02 sensors adjust the a/f and in the fed spec only 1 is the mainstream the ones that get symulated are the downstreams.
