Stupid auto transmission is leaking!

I believe my 2002 auto transmission's main pump seal is leaking. Also, I was told both my transaxle seals are leaky and need to be replaced.

Any one else had this problem?

I've had both my differential seals replaced. I have a MT but I guess it's similar. If it's just your seals then it shouldn't be more than a $210 fix. I'd take it in unless you are confident at taking your axles out.

I'm starting to think I drive my cars too hard.

89 240sx, blew the tranny had to have it rebuilt.

Now the 02 maxima, blew the main pump seal. Maybe I should drive a tank.

Aluminium shavings in the pan..

Yup its time for a rebuild. Question is, the rebuild might cost $2,100.. so should I just buy a new transmission and drop that in?

Thanks.

Wow, ok. Guess nobody cares much.

Some screw came loose and a roller pin "cut" metal out of the differential. More details once I get the invoice from the shop.

So, this was a pure mechanical failure. Additives, driving habit.. none of those were the cause.
