Hey guys, after about 10 minutes of driving my max I get this burnt rubber smell that comes out the vents, I have an automatic. When Im driving I can't smell it very strongly, but as soon as I come to a stop it gets really strong....anyone had this problem or know what the hell is goin on? No new parts have been put in recently, at the tires were new in october..THANKS!

no but i would start of checking ur brakes... i know u said rubber but sometimes it smells really alike... if thats not it then pop the hood and see if anything is touching were its not

 

ya, I burned out a lot with the potenzas, but then when I had to shell out 800 for new tires I realized I couldn't afford to do that...too much. You think maybe the breaks are shot? Have had the same breaks on for 41k now. and rotors have only been resurfaced once. and the lady that owned it before me had it in da mountains.

 

its a good gance that its the brakes now that u mentioned some LADY driver was breaking down the moutain side... but my brakes are on the way out too and i smell it once in a while... just waiting for my brembos to come in

 

Do you have larger rims and tires on your max? The problem i had with mine was that the tire was rubbing the plastic wheel well covers. Check to see if the tires are rubbing. That could be the problem

 

actually.....Im gonna regret this....but...my max had 17in alloy rims....and now i have 16in american racing rims and 16 215/55/16 bf goodrich traction t/as O and btw are our cars that crappy on snow? or is it just my heavy foot...with me, i cant accelerate on snow, cuz my car just slips and the damn SLIP light blinks and pisses me off so I usually end up turning TCS off...haha
