I am so ****ed, I truly like the Maxima, the 3rd gen was an awesome car, my old 4th gen 99 was excellent, and I love my 5th gen Maxima so far, no piant problems YET! Well I am SO ****ED OFF, I bought 2 remotes and 2 keyblanks for my car on EBAY after I called and got the prices, remotes were like 25/each and keys were 2 for 40 which is a good price compared to the dealer prices. Well can you believe those ******* *******s are charging me $30.00/unit to program which is 120.00 to program two sets of keys, I'm so ****ed, my friend paid 18.00 to program 3 sets for his Chrysler, I just wanted to tell everyone how ****ed I am and if anyone knows a way to program these cheaper or by myself PLEASE TELL ME, yes I did call another dealership which was more, as for 800-nissan1 well they are like "huhuhu no programming needed huhuhuhhhhhhh" god damn morons, thanks! lol

I, too bought one off of e-bay. The guy included instructions in mine. If nobody posts, I will post that tonight when I get home. I am at work now! I haven't done it yet on mine as I want to make sure that programming this new one won't 'unprogram' the others

Thanks but looks like you dont need to post since 2000maxse sent a link, check it out maybe those instructions are better cause if you do start the porgramming process it will unprogram your old ones but it takes another 5 sec to add additionl ones....

can u please repost the instructions because apprently that link does not work anymore. I followed the 4th gen instructions, and for some reason it does not unprogram the other remotes in memory, which i want to do. thanks in advance

I am assuming the instructions are the same, but I am not positive. Perhaps someone else can confirm.

That's the same file I used and I have reprogrammed all my remotes successfully twice - remote programming at the dealeship is the biggest scam once you know the instructions. I can do all 3 of my remotes in under a minute.

Now if we can just figure out how to progam the darn keys - then that would be sweet.

Adam...you really need to start a relationship with your service advisor and the service manager...take them to lunch or something

a lot of the things that they like to charge for...you can get done for free when you have a good WORKING relationship with the service department.....don't just stop by there when you want something...just stop in to say hello..take the guys a box of doughnuts!!

two boxes of doughnuts can save $$$$ in the end

I've only had one bad incident with the service department....but since I have developed a friendship with the service manager and many of the advisors...I have no more drama

I don't mind calling them up and inviting them to lunch....it's worth more to me in the end

a little *** kissing can go a longggggggggggg way!!

good luck...and btw..you can take me to lunch too

I tried those instructions several times and I was still not able to program my remote. When the key is in the acc position, is it turned to 1, 2 or 3. Thanx in advance for your help.
