Trouble installing front tower bar

I got a front tower bar off ebay (custom maxima), and i've unscrewed all the nuts on top of the struts. now when I look from the front of the car at the left side, there's some sort of connection that looks like I'll need to remove. What is this connection and is it safe to remove. Let me know if i really don't need to remove this. I checked the sticky on the how to's but the link no longer works. I also looked up at the front on maxima.org and it's being performed on a 4gen.

Front Strut Tower Bar FTW!

Do you know what brand the bar is?

Yes, you can remove, install the bar, then reinstall the part.

thanks for the easy reply. Does it just snap out (kinda like the side marker lights do)? Also, what does this wire do inside of the engine (basically...what's it's function)?

are you talking about the electric connector on the passenger side of the strut tower? I dunno what it does, but you can disconnect it and reconnect it back....

I had a hard time disconnecting the plug. I usually break these things, so I undid the two bolts holding it to the shock tower and lifted it up enough to put the FSTB rings on. Then bolted the electrical connector back on.

Yeah, all you've gotta do is press down on the button on the bottom of the connection (it's hard to see unless you get down on eye-level with it.) Oce you see it, it comes off easily.
