2k2 Throttle Body idle adjustment

Hi,

I am trying to adjust the idle on my 2k2 TB. There is a small idle adjustment screw on the bottom of the throttle body, but it will not move for the life of me. I even removed the jamb nut entirely but the little bolt is frozen in place.

Has anyone had any trouble with this?

NO, NO, NO. DO NOT disturb ANYTHING on the TB. The ECM controls the idle. Why are you trying to adjust the idle?? This is an ongoing issue on this forum.

Forgot to add that this is in my 95 Maxima, and I converted the throttle body to cable driven, but the idle adjustment screw can still be used.

Your '95 I believe uses an IACV and has a closed throttle position switch. If you screw around with the throttle stop you are going to affect the closed position switch adjustment and the idle air counts.

Yes, he has a VQ35 in there. I think he also has the 4th Gen ECU since he is still using cable, because I doubt he went through the hassle of trying to use an 02+ ECU with the drive by wire.

Yeah, VQ35 with stock 3.0 ECU. I shaved part of the throttle stop off so it is all good now, but I still need
a way to adjust it (using the screw) for the colder months.

I see no way that this engine will be "in control". Your original ECM even if somehow you got it connected, cannot control the engine. What TPS, IACV, MAF etc. are you using? The 3.5 has Variable Valve Timing etc, etc. When you swap engines like this you normally swap the engine, harnesses, connectors, sensors, ECM etc. In other words... the whole shebang!

Several have made the 3.0 ECU work with hardly any issues, it is nothing new.

I just need to find a way to move that screw so I can set it higher for winter months.

BTW, there is no IACV installed, everything else is 4th gen.

Is this the one you are trying to adjust? Mine works fine just loosened the locknut and adjust screw.

Don't try to tell me you ain't going to have issues. I want to see it running from idle to T/O on an approved, certified dyno. Let's see some REAL figures. That's back to back runs with all emissions as well.

Yeah, that's the one. Mine won't turn even with a vise grip.

What do you mean by real figures? Are you saying my swap isnt putting down adequate power? Well, I can tell you that it does.. (101 MPH trap speed, JClaw traps 105 MPH) As far as emissions goes, I don't have to worry about that in my state

As far as issues, well, no issues here

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but there is also a 3.5 swapped 4th gen putting down more hp to the wheels then 5th gens are putting down at the crank. He has some mods but this is further truth that these swapped cars to run.... and run hard.
