Installed CAI, now SES light

I just installed my Berk Technology Short Ram Intake and ever since I have had a "Service Engine Soon" light. Is this common? The manual says to give the car a few "cycles" to go away and contact your Nissan dealer if it does not. Is there a way to clear codes? I always disconect my battery when working on the car. Also, how you read your codes? Is a code reader required?

Maybe I need to clean my MAF? I was careful not to over oil my K&N.

Thanks for the help.

Bring it to any Autozone and they will do it for you.

K&n comes oiled from the factory. if you added more oil to it, it's overoiled. take off the intake and see if the midpipe is oily on the inside. if that's the case, you may have oil on your MAF as well.

Were you careful with the MAF and the wiring when installing? Make sure everything is plugged back in correctly. Also, does car idle and run any different?

Buttom line, go to autozone, pick up an obd-2 reader, check the codes, clear them and see if they come back.

Pick up some CRC MAF cleaner at your local AutoZone Or Checker. That may solve your problem before you go buy a new MAF.

I had Autozone run the code and clear them. No more SES light.

I don't remember: Something about low-voltage to maf (I forgot to plug in the maf - DOH), and IAT.

SES does non come on often, unless you start you car with the MAF unplugged. Usually there are not problems with installing an intake if you do it right (and it's reaaally hard not to).

I just installed mine yesterday and no ses light. I got the apexi filter with mine so no oil worries.

BTW did anyone have trouble getting the silicone connector hose around the apexi filter, I had to fight it on and it took me almost 30 min.
