I need to purchase a MAF sensor for my 2000 Maxima. I've seen two different ones however. One costs around $70 and the other around $300. What is the difference and which one would I need to buy? Also, does anyone know any online outlet where I can get a good price on the right one? Thanks!

i heard you can use the $70 one on 5.5s as well.....any truth to this?

and while we are on the subject of MAF sensors, ive heard of muscle car guys "descreening" their MAFs. does this do anything? i assume if it works on v8s it would work on any engine. i assume this also hurts the life span of the MAF itself.

how do you know if your MAF sensor is trash? i keep getting the stupid P0171 code.

most dealerships stock the MAF sensors. ask for the MAF for 2k1 maxima it should be like $120.

You can get yours from www.nissanparts.cc or www.courtesyparts.com or a few other places for less then $90 shipped. I purchased mine from nissanparts.cc for $88 shipped. Been buying from them for several years now with no issues at all.
