Oh no! Help! Muffler Detached!
Well ok, Ive been driving aroiund lately and my car has been pretty freakin loud... So I figured it was just an exhaust leak and didnt really pay any attention. Lately I started to hear a clunking sound and saw that my muffler was loose but never looked farther than that. So today it was a nice day and I figured i would see whats going on under my car and looking closely the rear section of the exhaust has broken off of the other pipe... Sorry not sure the names im a newb so I took some pics... I was wondering if a 2k2 or 2k3 would fit. Also if anyone had a 2k exhuast for sale I dont think they go for more than 30-50$ according to the Classifieds. Also if Anyone lives in Georgia and could help me install my new one please PM me, Email me at shk101@hotmail.com or IM me on AIM krnshorty 410. Thanks.
This last one isnt my exhaust but its just showing where it broke off

extremely common. happened to me as well on my 2k2. gives you a good reason to upgrade but if you want to keep it cheap just take it to a muffler shop and get them to do some welding, cant be that expensive can it?

Ha, Ha. This happened to me a few weeks ago. I thought I was the only one who had problems with these mufflers rusting out near the flanges. Below is a pic where mine had rusted out. I bought a cheap replacement (Bosal muffler) because I just wanted a quick fix to deaden that awlful, loud noise. If you plan on replacing the rear muffler, it can be done in your own driveway without taking it to a muffler shop. But, the only thing is that you have to jack the rear end mighty high (close to 2 feet off the ground) to remove and install the muffler over Nissan's terrible design of routing the pipe over the rear beam axle. With the help of Puppetmaster's advice on this org, I saved myself some money and installed it myself. I was quoted at the Nissan dealer for about $450.00 for the total install of a new stock muffler. I laughed at the service tech and walked out.

but if the bolts are rusted on pretty good, doing it yourself may not be an option unless youve got kick *** tools. i know on mine, all the bolts had to be either cut or torched out due to heavy rust...
