Google always helps. The code you mentioned is: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2). If you are under 80K get your cat replaced at a dealer...

could also be a precat. but I will tell you that if you plan on buying a y-pipe, get it before you replace anything that will cost you money. I had the same code, installed my y-pipe, and now the code has dissapeared.

P0430 IS for the front pre-cat, someone already posted that it was Bank 2, which is the front bank. It has nothing to do with the main cat. Plus he has an 01, so there are no O2s behind the main cat that could tell if wasn't working right.

So you have a After market y-pipe? If so then its your main cat. Like said before if you have under 80k miles then go to a nissan dealer and get you cat replaced

It doesn't matter if you have a y-pipe or not. Your car is CALI spec and there is a front pre-cat that is not replaced by the y-pipe.

You can either replace the pre-cat which will be a pain, get headers, or you can get an O2 sim to simulate a working front pre-cat.

If you want local help, let me know.

your high flow cat might be garbage...so that could be your problem. I've not heard many good things about high flow cats or our cars.

Please explain to me how a faulty main cat or high flow cat will throw the code for a Bank 2 pre-cat, P0430, on a CALI spec car.

i dont know the explaination or even where to start, i've just read alot about people replacing their cat and having it make a difference. Like they replaced the sensor first, and the code would come back, then they replace their cat and the code would go away and stay away. Just what i've read from other threads.

damn, i still suspect that those codes (P0420 and P0430) are caused by Cold Air Intakes. and i really do not want any reatarded SES lights on my dash...
