LSD in an 01 non-AE?
LSD in an 01 non-AE?
Ive read abut the stuff that the AE has over the regular 01 SE and one is that its got a VLSD, which is fluid-type of limited slip right? and the 02-03's have HLSD which is mechanical? anyway, i def. dont have an AE, its a 5 speed SE- after work one day my friend told me to spin the tires a bit so i left a good 15 ft patch, went back to look and it was both wheels, lined up at the same spots both started and stopped evenly at the same time. on paved asphalt. tried it again a few days later, same thing. i'm not gonna keep spinning out the tires but i'm wondering if theirs a chance more cars than the AE got an LSD? is there anything i could check, a trans code or something?
According to the Nissan part listing, from production date 06/01 untill the end of production of the 3.0L. There was simply an option of LSD or Non. I think this was designated as an "SES" package. The other thought, is maybe something happened to the original 5 speed and someone bought a used tranny for this car, and the only thing they could find was a locker. If my tranny took a crap i'd def. want to find a LSD to put in there instead. Any ways if you are doing two tire burnouts, you can quit killing your tires, you def. have a LSD. (Lucky)
Sweet, now that would be if the previous owner did something like blew a synchro out or something that wasnt covered under the warranty? I got it with 55k on it and had the dealer service check the vin to see what warranty work had been done, only things were a new y-pipe and 2 o2's. Also my prod. date is 8/00 so its an early one.
