How hard are the ES bushing to install

I am looking to clean up the slop in my front end and suspension in general so I think the Energy Suspension bushings would be a good idea. I want to do all the bushings I can do except the motor mounts, because I just got brand new motor mounts when I got my brand new long block only about 4000 miles ago. How hard are they to install and can someone point me to the most complete list they can find of all the ES bushings for the 5.5 gens? I have found posts about the ES bushings after searching but I need a complete list of all the ES bushings available for our cars, and where to get them would be nice too.

Thanks guys,
Josh

I guess so...

People, the write-ups that we have posted were written by PoLo, so he is the one who should get a credit for this.

Sweet thanks guys. I figure seeing how I am going to have the wheels off to do the brake job I should get the bushings done while the wheels are off and the car is in the air.

How bout the control arm bushings? Any writeups on installing those?

Which bushings are the hardest to get in there? Do I need to bring my car to a shop to get any of them pressed in? I think I remember a couple have to be pressed in by a shop but I cant remember which ones.

The 6sp bushings I cant do, for the the obvious reason that my car is auto and the subframe bushings I am waiting for blackbirdVQ or larrio to come out with the aluminum front subframe bushings, which I hope will really give the front end some better feel

And you guys have issues??? I have issues...I think I'm addicted to modding.. I've spent over a grand in less than a month.

control arm would be the hardest as it is the most time consuming.
trailing arms take the cake as i'm not a fan of torching ****.

FSB bushings are a joke and a half. SERIOUSLY.
everythign else is easy. even the Motor mounts were quick. i did subframe, motormount, and FSB's in under 2 hours for some .org user.

Yeah I'm not worried about the FSB or subframe bushings. Those look really straight forward, the LCA and trailing arms do make me nervous though. I dint think I'de do either without a write up. if my buddy is around I may ask him for help on the LCA bushings.

I wonder if I can buy the ES subframe bushings and bring them to a machine shop and get them to machine the same shape from aluminum and make my own aluminum subframe bushings.

so called "ES subframe bushings" are really crossmember bushings (not true subframe bushings.) Larrio and BlackbirdVQ are making something different. Crossmember bushings don't really make any difference.

what has me a bit confused. if you're goign to be using aluminum bushings, wouldn't you just not use anything and screw it in all the way. not like aluminum bushings will provide any cushioning.

I would... but I dont know the effects of something like that. I was really thinking an aluminum bushing thats a little hollow in the middle and filled with some high density urethane foam would be perfect, but to create something like that custom would be absurd money. I just want some sort of shock absorber to reduce vibrations. If I really wanted to reduce vibrations I could pretty much totally eliminate them by foaming my subframe rails... but thats too extreme for me. But I will be doing that on the weekend racer I want to build.

hm... that's an interesting idea. I gatta do some more research on this. If you eliminate "true" subframe bushings you will be able to lower your car by quite a significant amount without affecting suspension travel, control arm geometry and roll center.
