Massive hesitation

So my '03 Max this morning starts just fine but has absolutely no power. I could barely get it to go back up the driveway and into the garage (had to take the 240sx to work). I popped a "service engine soon" light. Any ideas?

Thanks,
JL

Try cleaning them out before buying new ones. Worth a try. And maybe new plugs?

The one other thing I will say is that the coils TEND to have a gradual death... Like hesitations during acceleration that just builds, while the MAF tend to die all at once.

I've seen things similar to this here at work where the drive by wire throttle body died. Probably going to need to pull that code though and see whats happening.

just got back from my mechanic and he pulled the code.......it shows that the "throttle actuator" has gone bad (this the same as the throttle body?)........i called daveb and have one on shipment to my shop.............i was going to take advantage of this downtime to replace the sparkplugs while i'm at it.......i've never changed them and have 98,000 on the odo..........
