the double sided adhesive should be the least of your worries. i have mine taken off when i had the car painted. there are 6 holes for the damn thing and that sob is on there. the final look is great without a spoiler, but i might suggest just trying to find a trunk without a spoiler already

What are you going to do with the stock spoiler after you take it off...?

i was wondering is it cheaper to find another trunk without a spoiler or to have a body shop fix it? would they have to repaint the entire trunk or just fill the holes and blend it in?

it depends on the type of fix that you want done. do you want them to just bondo the holes, or have them welded shut? that what you need to think about. that will make a difference. mine are welded shut.
the way you get the spoiler off i believe is that you actually either slide it forward or back then it will come off. the guy that did mine took him a while to realize that and i wasn't there when he took it off.

ryant35 i still got my factory spoiler sitting around if you're interested.

if you just want to remove the center post get a G35 spoiler. there are a few threads that talk about it if you do a search. that would be your best bet instead of having a lot of custom work done to your spoiler

dont wanna spend money on a G35 spoiler

even if i got it
1) i would still need 2 remove the stock 1 first
2) the holes for the center piece will still b there

so theres really no pt in spendin the $$

dont think itll b that much custom work
just a little touch up paint and seal holes
doesnt have 2 look perfect its not in an obvious spot and will be shadowed by the spoiler
plus my max is dark

Must be green... if ryant35 doesn't want it, I might be interested... since our colors match...

There was 9 on mine but yeah i just took mine off and the double stick tape they used is freaking great! I wish I could find some tape like that cause it sticks. Im going to be putting some metal plates under the holes and then applying body filler. The rear of the maxima looks sexy spoilerless and with the stillen rear valence.

here is what my car currently looks like:

and then after I get my kit refinished (side skirts are a poor color matchand my front lip is primer):

I just recently installed a OEM lighted spoiler on my 01. It was fairly easy. Mine did not have one originally so it might have been easier. I just had to drill a few holes and bolt it on, and run the wiring. I see that some people had double backed tape, mine came with the single backed tape so it does not adhere to the trunk itself, but just to the spoiler to prevent water. Since those holes that are drilled are most likely 1/4-1/2 then welding them in might be the smarter move.

it was on tight... like tight tight. I had to pry it off. I scratched the paint but I am repainting the trunk anyways.

edit: I used a blow dryer and some goo gone stuff.
