Clicking and Thumping

This morning I started the car before heading to work. First turn I took was a right followed by a left. After the left turn, this clicking noise came from the right side and it was also thumping badly. There was alot of vibration on the pedal and in the car when this happened. Basically when I'm driving...if I accelerate and brake everything is normal but when I'm crusing it comes back and vibrates like crazy and the clicking noise is very loud. It clicks and thumps at the same time and it's coming from the driver side. To my experience, it seems like a axle but I could be wrong. Anyone had this problem before?

IF you've worked on the axles before, check the axle nut. If that's not the case it's one of two things, either bad wheel bearings and/or bad axles. I could be wrong, you can search around for these types of topics.

If it was the bearings, wouldnt it be a problem during ALL times? That's the thign that's throwing me off.

Not necessarily. Even if the bearing is bad, you'd hardly notice thumping at high speed (if any), on slow/medium speed turns, it's more prevalent. As my previous post, you can search and rummage through old threads, the answer is there somewhere.

I jut got rid of a terrible thumping under the right wheel well and the problem was bad motor mounts. You can test yours by putting the car in drive, stepping on the brakes to keep the car from going anywhere and stepping on the gas. If your motor shifts its position, you probably need new mounts. It's an easy check. You'll probably want another person to watch the motor as you sit inside the car and hit the brake and gas.

Struts?

I was getting a similar noise from my front end, it turned out to be a cracked top head on the strut. Good luck….

It's almost like a clunking/knnocking noise. I was driving the car with windows open todays and I can hear almost like a grinding noise but its intermittent. The faster I go, the faster the noise becomes. When i dont have my foot on the brake or gas pedal, the clicking comes back.
