Intake Noise question

I was just curious if anyone on the org has gone from the GAB to a shortram or cai? If so, does the intake get any louder. I remember the AEM v2 on my Acura CL used to scream at WOT. The GAB has some howel is definately louder than the stock air box. I just miss the scream of my old CAI and was wondering of the other intakes get any louder?

removing the intake resonator (stock midpipe) makes it about 10x louder.

removing the resonator is simply removing the black tubing going into the stock air box right (the one that kinda tries to suck in air out the hood.

such sillyness

in order of loudness loudest to quitests:
injen/cosmo style intake(looks good too)
short ram style
fender wall intake style(custom as no one offers one for a 5th gen afaik)
gutted air box(GAB)
stock

as said above loudest doesn't mean best but the difference between loudest and best performance is 1-3hp...imo

edit:sooner whats with ya avatar?

I finally installed them after a year and damn they're cool. No whistle, but a lot deeper. And I still need to install the between the elbow and UIM. Did the plugs as well, so maybe it is a combination of that, but holy hell it's got some nuts again.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I can't post new ones yet. I wanted to know what part of the stock air box you can modify to make it louder.

When someone said it gets 10x louder if you remove the stock intake resonator, all you need is a 3" pipe to put in its place and it's gonna be louder?
