High idle RPM's, does it hurt? fix?
My car idles around 1100-1200 rpm's and the guy at the nissan stealership told me that it could really hurt the car. On the other hand, the guy at Stage 6 Motorsports told me that it couldn't hurt the car. Anyone know? And if so, how can I get my idle speed fixed back down to normal. thanks

If you have an automatic, it puts more stress on the tranny when you are at a complete stop (as the car wants to go faster than at 700-800rpm). If you have a manual, I see no harm as long as it isn't something in need of repair under the hood.

only time my idle was that high was after i got a tune up or something when they changed my spark plugs and cleaned my tb. it would idle at like 1100-1200rpm and everytime i turn on the car it'll sound like it's being reved or something =/ and when i'm driving coming to a stop it'll give me a slight jerk before stopping. i brought it to the dealer and they fixed the problem but i don't know what they did tho.

it could be a broken TB...a local 6spd over here has a 1500 idle...and his TB is broken
also Shogunsc4 had similiar high idle problems...and similiar conditions...it turned out to be his TB and MAF
