help with angel eyez

okay I just had some professionals insall my headlights with the dde's yesterday. Now im really mad because 2 angel rings went out. 1 in each headlight. 1 is not as bright and the other is flickerin a bit. Could this be a wiring problem? or do u guys think i need new rings? I hope its a wiring problrm because i really don't want to pay these people more money to take it apart and what not. I paid too much already. thanx

If these guys are "profenssionals" odds are it's the rings if one in each side is working properly. Umnitza's?

Could be the inverters, or it could be the angel eyes themselves. I installed some on my friends car, and they all burnt out within a week. Bad batch i guess.. Good luck with resolving the issue.

check the wiring. if you they didnt wrap them up in electrical tape and you got water in there some how...like washing the car.....then the pos and neg are touching (water in between).....hard wiring them is the best bet with shrink wrap....that will prob solve the flickering one, but if one is already burnt then its too late..you'll have to get a new ring looks like...also seal up the ballast with some silicone...

dispite what people say i think DDES are the best (in non cold weather, yay! for so cal) you just gotta do all the little things to make is last....hardwire and silicone.....3 years and running *knock on wood*

Back when I installed mine, I cut the dust cover back a little bit for the wires to pass through the back of the headlight. When I did this, it left a sharp edge on the plastic, and at some point in the first few days, one ring got very very dim and had a little burnt spot on it. Turns out the plastic cut through the insullation and shorted out the ring. That sucked because I had to open the headlight again to replace it. Since then (over a year now) the DDEs have worked fine. I would say they look great too, but the replacement ring I got has started to rust or something at the ends where the wires connect (not sure if there's metal there so it might not be rust but it's something brown and is getting darker). Also, my headlights decided to start letting moisture in again. Yay.

Mine have the same thing. I think its because of HIDs. It just gets hot and eventually rubber gets burned. There is nothing you can do about it.

Whats the inverter? Im not electrical or car smart. If so i wouldn't have paid these people to get these done for me. The guy also said I might have bad ballest's.

the inverters convert your dc power source (your battery) into ac. basically a dc-ac converter

dde's

check the wiring. mine have been doing the same thing. If you get water on them I think this problems occurs. Take the time to hard wire them. Hope things work out for you.

to see if its the ballest, take the wores off the good ring, and ut them on the bad ring, if the bad ring lights up, its your ballest, they should be all hard wired, no dumb black clip connectors. New ballest is $35 from umnitsa.

Ok, I did this already and its the same problem. So im guessing its the damn bulbs. It hasn't rained since I had them installed so it couldn't be water. Only thing I can think of is to hardwire the ballest to the rings but I doubt that'll do anything. Oh btw the bulbs that are bad were the replacement rings. Does umnitza give out bad replacement rings or something because I remember reading something about they were'nt as good as the original one's that you get. Now I gotta pay these people again to open the damn thing up and replace the rings on both headlights. Dammit. I hope umnitza replaces the rings for free. Thanks guys....

Do u guys see anything wrong with this picture? Someone said the ring blew because it was touching the metal part. I'm thinkin the metal part damaged the wire. Any ideas? The 1 on the left isnt working but the right 1 is.
