Was coming back to Calgary from Edmonton today..

Can you not set your cruise over 100mph / 155ish kmph?

Or is it just my car?

I'd say no to both questions.

asking this question is almost like asking why anyone would put an CAI, or BBK on their car. if it works fine from the factory what's the reason for upgrade? if the speed limit is 65, what's the reason to go faster? because it can be done!

My 4th gen couldn't do it. I haven't driven out of town in my 5th gen yet so I haven't been anywhere to try cruise above 100.

404: Invalid comparison.

cruise control at 100mph: stupid, illegal, could hurt/kill someone or end driver up in jail.

CAI/BBK: CAI is just for sound, mostly. BBK actually makes car safer. both - not illegal, unlikely to hurt/kill anyone, won't get you thrown in jail.

I once dated a girl who lived in Wiesbaden...daddy was a USAF Col.

Don't feel bad, my Lancia didn't have any cruise, and with the ralleye tires on it, 100mph on the highway was an adventure

i dont think I was able to set mine above 90, might have been 100 though. Also can't set it below like 40 or 45.

I can set mine at 20mph if I want to....just have to be in 3rd gear.

If at any point I'm doing over 100mph, my intentions are never to cruise at those speeds. Therefore I have no idea if my cruise can be set at 100+. The most I have set cruise for in the past is 95mph, and that was for only a few seconds and using the "Accel" button to get there.

I think car companies want you to be a little more interactive once at that speed,

delays in reaction time are massive, a second goes a long way over 100mph

Why not? You are so pessemistic. Anyway, I have been in some cars that the cruise wouldn't set past 80mph. The only car I have been in that I could set the cruise at or above 100 is a rental car I had. A beautiful convertible black 2003 Saab 93 Turbo (The 2.0T not the 2.0t The one with the capitol T put out a few more PSI of boost giving about 15 extra horses). That car (I've heard...from a friend..... ) could have it's cruise set a 130mph. And I also heard that it could do 150mph and still have petal left. I hated turning that thing in. The wierdest thing about that car, but was kind cool, was the ignition was in the center console, just forward of the E brake. So, to not really answer your question, it all boils down to the particualr brand (In this case Nissan) and year. Also, there may be some kind of regional restrictions (Kinda like CA emmsions spec'd vehicles that have an extra cat) that are specific to particular vehicles. Kinda like US spec Mercedes are all electronicaly governed at 150 (Or 155) mph.

Hum, most vehicles I've had you could at least set cruise at 25mph. That's handy in school zones so the po-po won't bust you you for 2mph over. And I'm sure I'll get a comment like "You should be paying attention when in school zones instead of setting your cruise and not paying attention." I like to set cruise in the school zones so I can look out for kids instead of police who are very eager here to get you for 2 or 3 mph over.

So maybe if I cross my fingers and wish upon a falling star, I might be able to find a need to set the cruise at speeds above 100 mph?

Oh, btw...it's pessimistic

The owners manual states that the maximum cruise speed is 89mph for my 2000. I can verify that this is the case because I had the opportunity to test it out on the trip from NC to TX after I bought my car.
