Help!! replacing stock HU with Alpine HU

I have a few questions that i can't find answers to in the forums:

1.) Can I hookup a standard alpine HU rated at 4ohm by utilizing a passive harness to the bose speakers (which i think are 1ohm)??

2.) If i attempt question #1 is there a bose amplifier hiding between the wiring harness at the back of the HU and the speakers and if this items exist will it interfere with my sound?

3.) How is the crossover network handled on the bose system, will that adapt ok to the alpine HU? Are the crossovers passive crossovers in the doors or is the crossover networked actively handled by electronics in amplifier or headunit?

4.) Once i replace the bose HU can the alpine have the leads to power all 6 speakers(including tweaters)?

5.) I was speaking to a professional audio installer and he told me that I do not have to purchase the Pac Roem adapter and can bypass the bose amp and use the alpine HU to power all speakers. Is this possible becasue the bose speakers are rated at 1ohm?? what does the Pac adapter actually do?

If anyone can help me out with some of these questions it would be much appreciated.

You might want to post this in the audio forums.

1. Yes
2. The stock Bose amp is on the under side of the rear deck.
3. The crossovers are passive, the Bose amp has 4 sets of outputs for the 4 main speakers, and the tweeters simply have a small capacitor, but are connected to the same set of speaker wire as the front doors, correspondingly.
4. Yes.
5. No, the deck cannot directly power the Bose speakers. Step 1 would be find a new installer if he told you that. Step 2 would be to find the audio forum, find my post on page 2 of the "Car Audio FAQ" Sticky, and read it. Itll answer this and most of those other questions fully. This is what you should have done in the first place, but I decided to be nice and answer instead because Im bored. Your welcome. Future reference, you will get flamed for posting the same **** thats been posted 1000000 times before without taking 2 seconds to search or read first.
