Just got done with oil change.

Hey guys, I just got done changing me oil. Put new filter and 4-1/4 quarts. I let the car run until it was at operating temp and then shut it off to check the oil. Theres no oil on the dipstick o.0 Should I wait until tommorow morning, not drive the car, then check it?

Guess what, it's not just Nissan...this is the case for most cars.

For a true reading, you're supposed to check your dipstick when the engine is cold. Also, since you just changed it, run the engine a bit to let the oil circulate and get into the oil pan.

I would suggest in order to get the most accurate reading check the oil in the morning before you start the car. A cold oil dipstick reading will be more accurate than warm one because since the oil has had sufficient time to settle.
