been using the K&N for more than 5 years.. and still no problems with my MAF.... don't put too much oil in the filter

ye its defenatly the oil!! i got the KN panel filter, i just washed the oil off before puttin it in. but i must say a lot of dirt does get into the maf and manifold.

It may be possible that the removal of your old filter and the dust that was kicked up in the process may have caused an issue for your MAF.

If these are infact sensitive MAFs as claimed by many one could imagine that simply jerking the intake with the piping connected may throw the MAFs out of wack.
