The horn(s) on my '01 SE sounds like it's off of a Honda
Civic. I hate it. Can they be replaced?

True, but I don't recall anybody saying where they purchased. Any Internet retailers?

I just fininshed instlaling the Fiamme Highway blaster horns "E" and "F". I bought it from Pepboys for 30 bucks with tax.

BTW after i installed the horns, when i honked only one worked and also one worked when i closed the doors with the keyless entery. BUT when i pressed on the Alarm botton on the keyless control entery both worked and its sounded really loud, Could somebody please explain me what happenes here?

There's a problem... I don't know what, but I know there is. Both horns should go off when you honk.

just installed

...the Fiamm highway blaster..it doesnt work when using the remote locking device..but then I think i read previously somewhere on this site that louder horns require a bit more juice. they dont get enough in the split second that a keyless entry sends a current...which is OK by me..I dont want to turn heads everytime I park/lock the car! other than that, this horn is quite loud enough for me

The "E" horn is the high note and the "F" horn is the low note. Let me know if you have any luck with them. I'm going to wait it out and see how other Max owners do with them in general.

I installed also the Fiamme Highway Blaster and when i lock the doors it works. It doesn't work if you leave the door open and try it out or that you configured the keyless entry to not make a beep. If you replaced both horns i think it should work. There is a frequency difference between the "E" and "F" note.

Hmmm...that could explain why mine didn't work. Can anyone else confirm that the horns only work with the doors closed? That seems strange to me that the normal horns work all the time but these only work under certain occasions.

Nissan did it on purpose, because they want to let you know that the doors are open. If you always lock your doors and hear a beep you know that all the doors are fully locked, but if you don't then one is unlockd or somebody didn't close it. Its very good they thought about it. The horns always work when you press on the steering wheel its just the keyless enetry doesn't to warn you something is wrong.

Something's still confusing to me. The factory horns work whether or not the door's open but when I changed to the Fiamm horns, they did not work with the doors open (I didn't test them with the doors closed). Why is that?

Are you sure the factory horns worked with the doors open. I don't think so... if you still got the factory horns on then check it out. I think its better they don't beep when the doors are open because then you know something is wrong and you need to check it out before you leave your car. I am really happy with the Fiamme. Try opening your hood and standing couple of feet in front of them and click the panice botton, your ears will get blown and you'll wake up the whole neigborhood.

I'm talking specifically about pressing the steering wheel to get the horn to sound. The stocks sound when I press the steering wheel anytime, the Fiamms didn't. Like I said before, I only tested with the driver's side door open but the stocks still sounded.
