I have an idea for Tail lights

Has anyone painted their tails the color of the car's body exept for where the brake/turn and reverse lights are? I think i remember during mardi gras last year i was walking around and i saw a pearl white max /w stillen front end and he had tails that were the same color as the car's body, is this a sold product?? B/C i really dont care for the chrome 5.5's and the i like my SE tails but they dont match very well. Anyone else ever see these tails or have this done?

Yes, I have seen this several times on the board. Specifically the sterling mist. IMHO, it looks better with the lighter colored cars than the dark colored cars. I like the smoked lens' of the 00-01 like mine are the best.

I've seen it too, and IMO, it doesn't look good.

There wasn't one.

None the less man if you are planning on doing this don't paint it over the lenz. Take it off and paint the housing on the inside.

If you are half-way decent with masking and painting, you can make it look good IMO. Whatever floats your carcass...

TYC makes a taillight that is designed for color-match painting.

The ones i saw looked as if the tail lights had body filler around them so everthing was flush and smooth.

Anyone have any other pictures?

It wouldn't look that good, just like what Chevy did with the last generation Impala with their rear taillight, that it was matched to the color of the car, it look stupid.
