Hey I thinkin about doing a y-pipe next on my 2002 max. All I can find available is the warpspeed ... is it worth it? I dont want headers because I can't stand the rasp they make at high rpm, so no headers. Anyways $250 for 20 hp doesn't sound too bad.

After going through many of the threads regarding "RSB" and "FTSB" - I am have very interested in installing it to my stock 2002. However, I have neither the tools or the know-how to install it my auto, SE.
Does anybody have the the know-how and the tools for the install? I will compensate for the time spent. I am willing to travel 40 miles radius from Manhanttan. I asked my local mechanic about the RSB/FTSB and he commented that he has no experience in installing it, but he will try.
I thought it may be better if I tried the forum first. Thanks for reading.

The RSB may be a little more difficult, and it's nice to have another person to help: http://www.moodym.com/maxima/tech/addcorsb.html
If you really need the help, you can try asking here: http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=15
There are plenty of Max owners in the NYC area that could probably help you out.

Some of the dual halo angel eyes projectors i'm looking at say they are not to be used with a HID lighting system. I do imagine though the ones using the HID lighting system are a lot brighter?
It seems like you are looking for some eBay projectors and adding the angel eyes to them.
This may help: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....67#post5322667
IMHO, you're better off buying the 2002-03 headlights and buying the proper angel eyes...then again, you are in NYC, so there's the chance they might get stolen.

They look terrible on a dark maxima, IMO....but that's just my own humble opinion

With the VQ35, go with headers, or don't waste your money.
On a 00-01, the ypipe eliminates the precats and gives better gains.

was speaking in generalities

Thanks for the responses .
Coolmax - I read in the forum that the only tool you need to install FTSB was a torque wrench (I read 32-35 pounds). I do not have the wrench. I figured it may be easier to have someone install both the FTSB and RSB (presumably the harder of the two). Of course in a heated garage
If there isn't anybody around here, I guess I try my luck with my local mechanic.

I know this is a probably a dumb question or the wrong place for it (wow overload on where certain posts are supposed to go) but I am a novice when it comes to fixing things on a car. Is there someone on here in Western PA, Western MD, Panhandle WV, Northern VA that can fix the O2 sensor problem. I dont really want to go the mechanic or dealer route because I have been ripped off so many times before (not with a Maxima)

My 2000 has a problem with morning sickness. The colder it is, the harder it is to keep running. When I start it, it revs higher than usual and stays at an idle speed for 10 secs and then it idles very low and dies. I have to keep the car in neutral at stops and rev the motor so it doesn't die. After about 10 mins of driving the problem goes away.
By the way, the car, even when ice cold still runs strong under acceleration with this problem.
Anyone have any suggestions???? Im at a loss.

Ive heard good things from a friend with an 04 Max about the Fujita Intake system. My question is with the same powerplant would this work in my 03 Max? Anyone tried it? Im trying to get the best performance from an intake system, but the tons of posts make my head spin lol.
#1107
Ther are honestly 100's and 100's of threads on the intakes for the 5th gens, and all provide minimal gains. Whether you use a WAI or CAI setup, they all provide very similar "gains".

you can actually "smoke" your stock ones. 2 layers of black followed by layer of clear. the benefit of painting the stock ones is that they will still reflect and light up the correct colors.

I have a set of Energy Suspension trailing arm bushings. I plan on doing the replacement job in the workshop at my place of employment. As far as mechanical skills go, I would rate myself as the lower end of intermediate, or just beyond that of an advanced beginner.
How long should I be setting aside for completing this job? This is assuming of course that I run into problems with removing the old bushings and installing the new ones. I work 12 hour shifts, of which I could set aside 8-9 hours total time when working a night shift. Is this going to be enough time, or should I make sure that I can keep the car in the shop for a second evening in case I encounter difficulties?
