everything is good info to me, thanks always. i thing the noise is coming from the actual pulley tho, all it is is a big bearing that the belt is riding on

I bought a 2k 5spd SE today and wanted to know if you guys had any objections to buying a 5th gen over a 5.5. I know about the 3.5l engine but did not see any major reason not to get it because of the price i got the car for. Is there any real BIG things ill miss out on besides the power?

the joy of adding oil every couple weeks?

In truth, I don't care about the 3.5 engine itself, but I surely would love to have the 6MT on the 5.5 gen...for gear ratios AND for highway gas mileage.

I saw what you did there. Not all the engines have the ring issue. The 6mt is nice, the engine is a little bit more powerful. My 96 engine was solid. My 03 engine is solid. The 6mt allows me to cruise at 75 at 2k rpm. I dont like the look of 6th's, I prefer 4th's, but 5th's are growing on me.

Hey guys,

I'm going to take off the splash guards on my '02 and just wanted to know if there is any way to do it besides taking off the wheel. Looks like the only possibility to me. Thanks.

I got a 2001 SE and my abs light just recently came on. I tried researching the problem on here but there doesn't seem to be a common cause to the problem that I could find.

I know I need to replace my rotors & pads (just from driving not from the light) but do you think this could have caused my ABS light to come on? If not what could be the problem...and the bottom line, how much is this going to cost me?

If the ABS light went on, not to be mistaken fro the Brake light, then it is probably one of your 4 wheel sensors.

It's the ABS light and I also notice a low sounding rumbling coming from my brake pedal area whenever I start the car. Sounds like something starting or trying to kick in...very low sound but I'm an observant person lol.

If it is one of the sensors how much do you think that'll cost?

That low rumble you're hearing is the ABS module running a diagnostic test and it is not finding one of the sensors. The sensor itself is about 115$. Try www.pinnaclenissan.com for it, and as far as install, search on here or download the FSM from phatg20.net.

ECU programming time?

A quick question, does anyone know how much ACTUAL time it should take a car dealer to flash the ECU? The crazy **** service guy said 2 hour which sounds ridiculous for a plug and play.

thanks again!

okay so when i leave my car in park, it will die pretty consistently in about 5-30 seconds. I've learned that this is probably an IACV goin out.

My car's acceleration from rest is very uneven. I will depress the gas pedal and smoothly, but it is like it takes a sec to grab. And when it does get up and go, it jumps up in revs like i floored the thing.

Is this most likely the IACV too? or am i lookin at more than one problem?

this is on a 2k automatic. thanks org.

And oh yeah, any idea on what a new IACV costs?

Hi
i have a 2001 maxima se 20th anniversary edition
ive had this problem since i bought the car..the left front headlight does not work on low beam
switching the bulbs dint work either
my dad tested all the fuses inside the car and in the hood one by one and they all are fine...what we figured out was that there is no power coming to it

however, the low beam and daytime lights work fine
ive been googling all over and searching this forum for the past 6 months with no results related to my car
i found stuff about the 4th gen having this problem but its probly not related to this

can anyone help me?? pllz

My windows seem to stick to the top of the rubber lining when rolling them down. It even looks like this effect has thrown 2 of my windows off their tracks. Any sort of recommendations on what I should use to lubricate the molding in there?

clean with wet rag
lubricate with silicon spray (its non-oil based so it wont attract more dirt)

Sorry for asking these noob Q's, as I know this has been covered.. having search difficulties seriously patience is gone. RSB and brakes on the way looking for further suspension complements.

1- LTB (stage 2 of course) eliminates the need for FSTB (or rather makes it not worth it)?

2- Where do you buy the OTTO FSTB as I CANNOT find where. Link for the for the noob please. :/

3- A few tips on using search as I am getting frustrated with it.
