Battery, Starter or Alternator?

I have had my car for about four years now. I have 57,000 miles on it. Lately it has been starting kind of funny, meaning, it is slow to start. When I turn the key, there is a slight hesitation or lapse before the car starts. It used to kick right over. It has never done this before, but has been going on for about two weeks now. The car has been running the same as it has been. I have not noticed anything different in the way in which it runs. Wondering if it is time to replace the spark plugs, etc as well, although, I thought we did not have to until 100,000 miles. True or not true?

Any thoughts on where I should start? Thanks for any advice.

Unless it does this intermittently the starter is an unlikely culprit - Im leaning towards the battery. Spark plugs are platinum-tipped and are good for another 43k - no worries there.

check the voltage before you start the car. If its 13.5 volts or so, the battery is holding a charge..After you start the car, if the voltage is over 14.5, the alternator is good...
