need some advice on this test

i got my car to canadian tire and they did the compression test on the engine.

the result are

1: 132

2: 132

3: 132

4: 130

5: 132

6: 132

he said its ok

but i remember with my 98 maxima the psi were higher somewhere around 175

so can u guys tell me if its good or the engine is bout to die?

thx

According to FSM, VQ30DE standard is 185, minimum 142 psi...

Considering that all cyl's are almost the same and the expertise at CT, I would go and get a second measurement elsewhere... It could be that all rings are equally worn out but I'd measure it again before making any life-changing decisions...

no, its not good, neither place knows what theyre talking about. they think its ok because based on what most people look at, which is numbers as close to each other as posible, its great. but we know that that is way lower than normal so go get another test and if its the same come back and ask again. if its really 130-132 then youre compression is really low, possibly in the 8s and thats bad for a vq30

No prob I think your engine is likely OK but if you want to be safe take it to someone that knows how to do it properly...
