Power steering flush?

I went to a jiffy lude spot yesterday to get and oil change, and the guy told me that i needed to flush my power steering, because it was dirty. It did look at little dirty, but is a flush good or bad. I mean the i want to take car of the car, i just want to make sure if a flush is recommended.

These oil places always say that. You powersteearing fluid probably could go forever without being changed because the fluid is there just to pressurize the lines and not really lubricate anything. I've had alot of cars for alot of miles and never done this to any of them and nothing ever gone wrong.

If you want to do this, though, do it yourself.

Use an old turkey baster to remove the fluid from the reservoir. Then replace with new ATF fluid. I do this every 5k and use Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF.

Tell the guy you'll change the fluid if he drinks it.
