Hey, back in the USA and just HAD to get another Maxima. Got a 2000 this time and love it. It has some miles on it, 166k to be exact, but it looks and runs damn nice. My problem is when its cold at startup, it makes a little what sounds like lifters rattling. I dont recall my 96 Maxima doing this, even at almost 300k. Is this normal for the 5 gen? The sound lasts for only 1 second, then fades.

My daughter's 2000 Max has just exhibited this same start-up rattle in the last few weeks. She has just under 115K. Anyone else with details on a recall for this?

 

IF there was a recall does anyone out there have the specs on this so I can go to the dealer with the info?
