Another Reason Not To Use JiffyLube

Not that we needed another reason to avoid Jiffylube but this is pretty interesting:

I'll be e-mailing this to everyone I know.

Ha Ha 1 of those jiffy lubes is like 1/2 a mile from my house. I always knew that those guys were crooks, a friend of mine worked there and even he told me not to go there.

Sometimes they have a sign up that says "Insurance regulations.... dont allow customers in work area"

Some crap like that. Which is totally not true. Their insurance policies cover everyone on the premises. They just do that to isolate the mechanics from the customers.

I use them but watch every move they make. Last oil change on my wife's Honda Pilot the mechanic (I use the term lightly) tried to use a phillips screw driver on a stuck air filter cover bolt instead of using a socket wrench. Said he couldn't find the one 3/8" socket extension the shop owned and his nut driver was too short for the fender side bolt. I'm sure they left it under the hood of another customer who drove away wondering what that rattling noise was I told him to step away from the filter cover, I put the one bolt he'd already taken out back in and did the filter inspection myself later in the safety of my own driveway with the proper tools.

Frisco is right, you've got to breath down their neck so they know you are watching. If they don't want you in the bay, get in the car and drive away.

that's why you bring your car to some place with good customer service.. not jiffy lube or your local nissan dealer, unless you are lucky to have a good one
i work at my local honda and even customers who own maximas come in for the good service.
