Here's the info I was able to find out:

Eibach spring rate cannot be "handled" by the stock struts - they simply do not have the rebound ability to deal with the higher spring rate. Thats what makes the car feel a bit bouncy and floaty...
I recentlyaskd my wife "how is the ride" and she said "it's fine" ....I'd say her Mazda 3 stock is equally as firm of a ride.
If you're looking for cushy, get some Tokico Blues and GLE spring......
i cannont stress enough how important it is to pair higher-rate springs with a strut that can handle this rate (i.e. not OEM struts)

I was explaining to spark plugs that when I had maxspeeds with stock struts, the ride ws comfy/stocklike, but very floaty and bouncy due to the struts. To clear that up

Me: What are the stiffest springs that Illuminas for 2000 Nissan Maxima can handle?
Tokico rep (after putting me on hold) : 230 lbs/in front and 315 lbs/in rear.
Me: What are the softest springs that I can run with illuminas?
Tokico rep: first setting is designed to match stock springs.
Me: What kind of springs are Blues for my car designed for?
Tokico rep: um... well, they are pretty much OEM replacement, they are about 10 - 15% stiffer than stock...
Me: Is there a way to find out exact numbers?
Tokico rep (after putting me on hold for about 10 minutes) : 205 lbs/in front and 293 lbs/in rear.
Me: Ok thanks!
Tokico rep: oh wait, it's for 99 Maxima!
Me: Could you tell me these numbers for my year?
Tokico rep (after putting me on hold) : sorry but I can not find this info (about Blues) for 2000 Maxima
Edit: info about Illiminas should be correct because different rep. told me the same exact numbers.

REAL CUSTOM springs. Friend worked at an off-name manufacturing facility that produces JDM springs in Clearwater while going to USF. Punched in some numbers in their machine and bout 6 days later after testing and treatment, I had em on my car. cost lil over 450. it was only bout 1" even drop, but it still looked good(was HORRID before).
QUITE floaty with stock struts, so I got some cheap Monroe Sensa-Tracs and it was fine.
it really sounds like with GLE springs and firmer damping (like blues or high settings on Illuminas) are really the answer you're searching for. It's nice to have everyone giving you all this input, because when i read it helps me decide what i want to do with my setup.

He called them JDM. Speaking of which, what the h#ll does JDM stand for? He (tim) told me he'd check it out cus he was training a new guy how to reprogram the machinery to produce the application they wanted, so he borrowed my car for 2 days, did the measuring and such, apparently it was VERY similar to the 3000GT, then 6 days later, I ran down to have him put them in in his garage. Only did the rear springs first (just in case), rode for almost 2 weeks like that before deciding it was safe to do all 4.
I'll just add my experience. I had Eibach with blues for a few years. For my taste they were a little harsh, but I liked the ride and the look. I finally decided to go with H&R's with Iluminas and I'm glad I did. The car still looks good (I think the Eibachs looked slightly better) and handles very well (I don't autocross). For me, the ride is much better. Both sets of springs are firmer than stock but the H&R's are more comfortable for me. BTW I have the Iluminas set on 2 front and rear. I may experiment with this in the future although the rears are tough to get at. That's just my experience ...

Based on DrKlops feelings about the blues they are about equivelent to illuminas at 4. So the fact that you went from non adjustable to adjustable struts could be the bigger factor in why your current setup feeling more comfortable now than it was before with the Eibachs. Did you ever try the Eibachs with the Illuminas?
