130K Service

My car has 130K on it. Any idea what needs to replaced or tuned. I already know I have to replace the oxygen sensor (P0138).
What is recommended?

You are right, OEM is the way to go. I'm thinking Generic since I'm on a tight budget. OEM is over $200.00. Generic is $95.00. New York State.

Original of course. This is Maxima we are talking about here not Hyundai (No disrespect to anyone who drivers Hyundai.)

I have upgraded my car with power slot rotors, hawk pads, 18'inch rims. I even replaced some belts for a/c and something else. The car has been maintained real good (one Owner: Me). You should see it to believe it. I just spent over $900.00 with Nissan as far as service goes. They told me the car needs nothing. I'm concerned with wear and tear of parts like starter, fuel pump e.t.c.
What should I watch out far?

Where exactly r u buying from? I've never seen an o2 for 200.00 even in the northern states. I wouldn't point you to something that u wouldn't want. As u may find the stealership takes sole proprietor in that business.

They showed me two packages. One was around $1250.00 and another around $950. They said I should go with the cheaper package since some of things didn't need service. They replaced all the fluids I believe and something else behind the gas cap. It was a black box. I'm not sure what its called. It had a hole in it and the SES light was on. I should correct myself here After that they said the car needs nothing else.

I went ahead with Nissan's recommendations at 90k?

at around 120K I had to choose one of those expensive packages and they showed a long list of things that needed to be done including replacing all the fluids.

Autozone. I just gave them the code P0138. If you know anywhere cheaper, then hook a brotha up.

Is there an advance discount auto parts up there? They are relatively cheaper. If not search over the net to find the best deals. Always look into all options.

dealers are there to just rip off people and make money. innocent people like you do get ripped off (no offense). i got 120k on my 2k1 SE all i do is have my transmission flush on every 30k and engine oil change on every 6000k addition to that i did replace the spark plugs on 100k and all 4 oxygen sensors on 80k. and addition to that you have to get your radiator flushed on every 30k and inspect your brake pads, rotors, check all fluids levels, hoses, battery cables, coolant, etc etc. i have never taken my car to dealer for thier exepensive packages... steering and brake fluids dont need to be changed for long time and your car has only 130k which is just the interval of the vehicles life. but if you have enuff money to pay dealers for services that you never need to get done then thats up to you.

FYI: the thing behind the gas cap is actually below it (you can see it behind the rear wheel) and is the EVAP canister. If you top off your car after the gas pump clicks, you can foul it out. It probably didn't have a hole but rather the charcoal inside was fouled due to fuel getting dumped in it. The part is about $90 or so and takes about 10 minutes to change. Other than that, you would have needed an oil change, radiator flush and fill, tranny flush and fill, new spark plugs, new PCV, new belts, new air filter and a new cabin filter. total in parts and fluid should have been around $100-150 and total time should be (if I did it) around 4-5 hours without a lift and all the nice equipment a shop would have or 2-3 in an equipped shop. Find a new mechanic.

I should be OK once I take care of the oxygen sensors. This is such a great car, I hate to loose it.

Thanks for educating me. I appreciate it.
