i have a 6 speed 2k2 and i know that function does not exist on the manuals. but we do have a button to program and to also turn on and off the function. my question to you guys is, if i were to swap my seat with a seat from an automatic, would my seat auto position itself on entry and exit of the vehicle? or is this function controled by the BCM and not the seat and harness itself?

 

the feature where the seat moves when you open the door has nothing to do with the seat itself. its disabled on 6 speeds as a safety feature. the only thing you can do is hit the botton after you sit down to move the seat

 

i am not sure if ours goes through the BCM or not but newer max's have a memory position module that controls that not the BCM so yeah you're safe you can swap seats nothing won't hurt...

 

soonerfan, i understand that. but im wondering what exactly did nissan do to disable them from the factory on the 6 speeds? was it in the seat harness or the bcm? im asking b/c i may have oppourtunity to swap my driver seat with one from an auto and thought it would be nice to have that feature.i guess the only sure way to find out is to go for it and see what happens seeing as that noone here has prob. ever tried it. ill keep you informed
