Cheap mod....

Before I say anything, full credit goes to irish for this one. Pretty much carbon copied what he did with a few things different. I removed the entire main ground line that runs from the battery terminal and replaced it making all of my contacts below the battery at the first main ground point as pictured. Anyways I was not posting to show off but to give an alternate method for connecting the grounds to the battery. Just a different way of doing it. This mod was pretty nice too seeing that all the supplies were free via work (car audio has its perks sometimes). I think the total cost was like $2.67 for the shrink wrap. Cheapest mod on the list yet.

yea....the powerband seemed a tad bit smoother. rev's seem a little bit quicker. Next I will be running a 12+ wire to the alternator. But for the money someone would spend making it themselves I would say it's worth it.

Agreed...I said the same thing as I was doing the install. On the other hand, wire loom just looks cheap. The wiring was free and the blue was better than red.

Cost = Freebie. I do car audio for work so the wiring/ring terminals were free. The shrink wrap was the only expense and it was only $2 and change.

I'm not really sure the exact name for it but it's a bracket attached to the intake manifold. As stated above I followed Irish's lead. Sorry...

This adds about 2 and red wiring would give you 2.5...

That wasn't an explanation on how to do the install. I was giving people an idea of a different way to do one aspect of the install. In the how-to by Irish a couple ground contacts were made on the actual neg. terminal of the battery. Instead I ran a new cable from the neg. terminal down to the spot you see below the airbox. This is were my contacts were made. Also I removed the entire wire that runs from the terminal to the inline ground below the batt. to the engine and replaced it with my 4 guage. How is that not better? I think it looks cleaner as well. I did it on MY car and threw the pics up for others to see another way of doing it...period. My install is no better than Irish's, just different.

on my old car I bought high temperature 4 gauge wire (30 feet) for 18 dollars. serious ****ing wire. I had to use bolt cutters just to ****ing strip the damn wire to get the ring terminals on. good job on your work though; looks professional.
