Back to the Max- Some ?'s

So my 01 Maxima was totaled in March, I then bought a GS300.... 8 months later, here I am-

Purchased a 2001 Maxima SE 5 speed (did it right this time)

Have a couple questions though:

When in 3rd and 4th gear, when the revs get above 2,000 I *feel* a deep groan throughout the rpms that increase with engine speed... Im not sure this is normal? / has to do with vias.. any insight?

The car has been lowered (H&R Springs) but I believe that the stock struts are still on there. Riding down I-95 today- hitting dips in the freeway it felt like I was on a rollercoaster (scared the heck outta me..way too bouncy)!! Is it possible that the stock shocks are blown? What shocks/ struts should I put on with the H&R's?

Clutch petal is a bit squeaky when pressed - any solutions?

Car came with a brand new Warpspeed Y-Pipe Is it worth installing? If you could post some driving experiences.. what should I do to compliment this mod?

Thanking you all in advance-

Well you will know if you shocks are blown because they will make a clanking sound when you hit bumps in the road. If its just bouncy but still quite then they might be on their way. That and the factory shock was not made to be used with aftermarket springs, so you are changing the "range" of the shock.

Lubricate the clutch pedal up where it attaches to the cluth pedal assembly to make it stop squeaking.

I usually use wd40, there is another lubricant like it that works better because it doesnt attract so much dirt and dust, but I cant remeber the name. As far as shocks go, I am fairly new to the Maxima world (been a 240 owner forever and got a max for my wife) so I have no experience or knowledge of good aftermarket parts for them.

The y-pipe will give you some good power. The y-pipe part is probably the most popular VQ30 mod.

I recommend you get rid of those crappy s-techs ASAP and get some actual performance springs. S-techs are just for looks, and they are too low - the control arm angles are terrible, creating bump steer. The springs have an awful rate to them. Take them off, sell them to some ricer, and get some Eibachs or H&Rs if you are looking for decent ride and performance without the bounce.

Get Tokico Illumina struts for whatever spring you get.
