OK, I just got my new 2001 and I was looking at doing the oscai, but I don't have the elbow or the silencer vat under the battery. My intake tube just has a cap that is a part of the plastic, ie I would have to cut it off. Has anyone else seen this. Seems like kind of a pain to me. And also, where do I run the pipe for it if I choose to do it? Thanks.

On the 2k1 and some 2k models, there is no tubing or resonator. So, you will have to cut the cap off at the bottom of the scoop. You can run the pipe down to the splash guard towards the driver side. Or, you can cut a slit on your splash guard and point it outside...

Cutting is required...

Yes, you have to cut of that cap. Save the sawed-off cap for future warranty work (I tape mine back on with electrical tape). You can let the pipe dangle above the splash-guard somewhere. In my case I cut a 2-inch hole in the splash-guard (also saved that) and fed the pipe through. A rigid vacuum attachment is attached to my 2-inch vacuum pipe and is visible from the outside (see attached picture).

Ok, thanks. I don't know if I'll be doing it just yet, my car is only 3 days old for me and I've only driven her about 150 miles... But man, I can't wait till I go over a 1000 miles so I can finally lay the hammer down. Keeping her under wraps is killing me! So, anyway, thank you guys, and are all the Nissan dealers really that **** about warranty work?

I started laying the hammer down at about 500 miles due to a medical condition known as LOSC (Lack Of Self Control). A lot of Nissan dealers appear to give their customers a hard time so it is to your advantage to keep any information that they could use to try and deny you warranty work to yourself. I believe they do sometimes tend to be harder to get along with than other companies.
