Max wont start (long)

Ok guys, I tried searching and I kept getting errors on the search page so I am throwing this out. I went to start my max this morning and it wouldnt. I turn the ignition and all the interior lights just flicker. It doesnt even attempt to crank the starter. For a little back story on this, last week I was at the train station listening to the radio with the car off when my radar detector bugged out and my radio cut off. I turned the key off and on but nothing. I unplugged the radar, tried the key again and nothing. I went to start the car and I had the same light flickering issue. I had to roll back and pop the clutch to start the car. Once I did that I was fine. I even let it run a few minutes and shut it down a couple times to be sure. It was fine for 2 days after that.
The only thing that I can think it may be is the battery. I checked the power and ground, they are both tight. The only work Ive done on the car recently is replacing 2 O2 sensors and that was about a month ago. I dont know what else it could be. Any ideas or suggestions would be fantastic.
Thanks guys!!

Instead of assuming something like that, why dont you just go to autozone and have them run a starter/battery/alternator test. It would be much simpler and you wouldnt just be throwing money at your car.

In my case, it is the battery. I had my grandfather test it for me today while I was at work and when he went to start it, the battery dropped from 12v to 4. He investigated even further and found there was no water in the battery....oops. I never thought to check that. Oh well, off to Autozone tomorrow. Its the original battery anyway. I make the final payment and it starts acting up.

Sounds like the same problem

Hello Remykins,

I saw your posting an it sounds alot like what I am experiencing with my 2001 maxima XE. I tried starting the car and got the light flicker, and nothing else. I replaced the battery even though it was only a year old. I still get the same result? What was the resolution to your problem? Was it expensive to fix? I'm thinking it might be a computer chip or module problem but, that is just a guess at this point.

Hoping for a quick reply
