Body Kit Question

Hey fellas,
I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong area or off topic, totally n00b, or I should have searched, etc.

Anyhow I was at the gym on Sunday. It was not very busy so I was able to park right in front. I was on the stair climber for a while and my car was parked adjacent to me on the left. Adjacent to me on the right was a 03 Cadillac STS. Not my favorite car but a good looking car IMO. Anyhow it was at this point that I noticed how nice a body kit would look on my car. My car rides on stock suspension. I could be happy with it as is, but wondering two things:
1. If I was to get a body kit (thinking just front/rear lip) what brand looks best on an 02?
2. I'm not planning on lowering my suspension. Would I look like an idiot if I added these two mods?

I guess I have a few more questions:
3. Anyone have pics of a 5.5 Gen with these kits but w/o a lowered suspension?
4. How much should I expect to spend on A. The Kit and B. The installation/Painting?

As always thank you .org members for the input.

I dont' think it would look right unless you lower your car. If you get Stillen parts, they will cost you to get painted since there is more labor involved with prepping/painting urethane parts. I got my whole kit painted for about $500 and I had some friends help me install it.

Good luck.

IMO the stillen kit is the best as far as lip kits go. The stillen kits are usually around 760.00 for the whole thing, but I would try to look around to chekc out prices. I got mine from sportcompact only. If you go with this kit then installation will not be too much and you could probably do it yourself. I've heard of people who get them installed and painted for around $800. I did it myself on my 2000 so I can't say for sure.

If you wanted to go with a full body kit then check out vis racing. I would stay away from extreme dimensions. I know have an extreme dimensions combat kit on my car and it was a pain to install. I got the front and rear installed on my own with help from a friend, but had to bring the sides to get installed at a shop and they charged me 1600 to get them to fit and then paint the whole thing. If you search on this site you can find jdubs body kit and take a look at it. I don't know if this is what you wanted but I hope I helped out.

You paid 1600.00 duckets to get just your sides done? you should've shopped around.

You can piece this kit together and come out a little cheaper in the long run. Definitely do your homework on body shops so you don't get rapped like my man Nismo.

I am a perfect example of making sure you do your homework. lol. Don't go by what a friend or anyone tells you. Unless you have actually seen the work the shop does and they can garauntee their work then don't deal with them. Hope you can learn from my mistake.
