03 Compass Mirror installed on 02

Hey before i did this I was searching for a write up on how to remove the old mirror and install the new one. I couldn't find anything, so I just tried it and it was very easy. There is a screw on the buttom of the mirror where it connects to the windsheild, you will need an allen wrench to get it off. Once it is loosened enough, just slide the mirror toward the back of the car, and it comes right off, and you can put the new one on. It takes like 25 seconds. I did this on an 02, not sure about other years though.

Does anybody know if the easy pass box effects the compass, or should if I should move it? It's touching the new mirror where it connects to the glass, thanks.

I did the same thing to my 02SE. It's a great mod that I'd do again if I had too. I found mine on ebay. I did a buy it now for $40 + $10 shipping.
Easy mod, took less than 10 minutes and works great.

ps here is a good writeup

How can you get this mirror off? I put it on, but I'm afraid I'll break the windshield if I yank it off.

I believe once you remove the screw you simply slide UP and it should slide off.

MixxMaxx, where did you pick up that mirror? Its nice

It's a screw but it doesn't screw into anything. It screws agains the little plate or whatever it is that is glued to the windshield. Like i said, it screws against this so that the mirror sits tight against it and doesn't slide.
If there are no screws then the mirror should just slide up off of the little plate glued to the wind shield. Look at that writeup I posted on the cardomain site above. It'll probably explain it a bit better than I can.

I got the mirror off Ebay, but they run well over $125 or so if your'e willing to shell out this much money for just a rear view mirror. I like it and it fits well with my blue LED theme in my car. Thanks for the compliments.

Not really. It should just click/snap right in. Took me a while to figure that one out because I kept looking for where to put the screw back in.

No. The EZ Pass will not affect the compass.

Its the same way the original mirror came out. There's a clip on the inside that you get to with a flathead screwdriver to release the mirror. The FSM has a diagram of the mirror removal somewhere, that's what I used as a guide.
