Exhaust Question

I have a bad O2 sensor. So I went to change it and noticed most of my front pipe is rotted.

The Flex pipe is ready to come apart and the heat shields are all rusted.

I figure this is prime time to get a Y pipe. My question is have any of you had problems with your SES light or check engine light coming on after you put on the Y pipe? Because you're technically eliminating 2 precats.

Also any good alternatives to the Cattman? I'll probably wait till spring time but if I find a deal I'll take it. I have a 2001 I30.

Happy new year.

an aftermarket y-pipe will not set off your SES light.
precats are only necessary for the few minutes until the main cat reaches operating temps. after that, the precats are just a restriction.
