rear axle beam question

i pulling out the rear beam, and was looking around carpart.com and found that they put different models in different category's. is the rear beam the same on all models? are they the same from the 4th gens to? any help is greatly appreciated. and another question, do you guys think its a good idea just to bend the beam myself? i got my frame machine, but it looks kinda hard to do.

Gen. 5 and 5.5 I believe are exactly the same. Gen. 4s are different. The Gen. 4s had the lateral link in front of the beam; the 5s and 5.5 had the lateral link moved to the backside of the beam.

Actually it looks like the lateral link bracket locations on the beam are the same and they just moved the lateral link to the rear side of the brackets on the Gen. 5s and 5.5s. The actual beam could be identical...... someone may be 100% sure, but I would not attempt to bend it.

yes, the SE/GLE/GXE beams are the same on all 5th gens. the 4th gen beam is only different in the location of the lateral link (the 5th gen setup is an improvement in this place).

Personally, I would not bend the beam. There are only a couple guys who have the expertise and equipment to do this correctly, and from what I've heard it's quite an ordeal to get it all correct. If you have a "spare" beam, I suppose give it a try, but have low expectations.

I don't think bending the beam is necessary anyhow unless you are tracking the car (road course, not drag).
