Check with the dealership first....he has a 5.5 gen and you have a 5 gen. There are differences in the key fob remote programming that may not allow you to program yours so easily.

$250 is about right. i just asked the shop that installed my alarm and they told me it's $250 for just the remote start to work with stock remote. i think i might do this too cuz i like the stock remote a lot more than the one that came with my alarm =/

Once they have a key for the module, will any copy of the key start thecar?? Because the chip is in the module, a key without a chip would start it??

hercules ill gladly do it for you, as i am from ct, however i cannot say using the stock remote would be in the best interest, you will lose a sufficient amount of range by using that remote. Why dont you just get rid of the factory key fob and use the one that comes with your remote start?

Its just the ease of the matter. Plus my cars are in the driveway or at the parking garage. The range is not an issue. I do not want to start my car a block or two away.

yes but you also need it installed, and that costs plenty

unless you can do it yourself, I hear it takes about 6 hours if you know what youre doing

what are we looking at the range with just the stock remote? I know on my first max, I bought the alarm, keyless entry and remote start and had installed for like $150 or something. I don't really needed an upgraded alarm as of right now (knock on wood), but I would be satisfied with just using the stock remote and I would love to stay away from the stealership

lhercules, you can huy a directed remote start/keyless entry for around 60-70$ with 1/4 mile of range + another 20-30 for the bypass module. I would only charge about 100$ for the install. So it is up to you.

my install took a couple hours. you need dei 556u and a 561t. one is the remote start with the keyfob, the other is the immobilizer. installation not recommended for a beginner. check my cardomain for exact specs and performances of this.

i know most people dont like ebay but http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-VALET-562T-R...ayphotohosting

I just dont see why he doesnt use the aftermarket remote. Is it because you dont want to lose the windows roll down feature ? Or the trunk pop all those can be done via relays. But the choice is yours. However youll still need the bypass any of these can be used. but the 556u/uw would be the easiest.
Category: Immobilizer Bypass
Required: Yes
Type: Transponder
Part#: 1100F
Notes: When using the 1100F or 1100X, a software change to 1100NI is needed.
Alternates: 556UW, 1100X, OM-Nissan-1, DesignTech 20402, DesignTech 29402

here is a dumb question,

because you have the chip that helps to keep your car from being stolen near the ignition doesnt this make it easier to steal a car? I mean it seems there is one less level of protection.

no, as soon as you hit the brake the car shuts off unless the key is in the ignition and turned to the RUN position.

Since the chip is inside near the ignition already for the remote start to work, can any copy of the original key turn it on, regardless if the key has a chip or not???

yes i believe any key that can be turned to the run position, however this will only work when remote start is activated. But the remote start only temporarily bypasses the immobolizer so im not 100% sure.

Yo dude call around or talk to one of the workers at the "stealership". I have found that these guys are willing to work with you on the side on their days off.
