How to replace side view mirror (5.xgen)
The How To thread was closed so here it is. It's for the LH driver side. Can use this howto to remove LH driver side door panel too.
This is the How To for replacing the side view mirror/removing door panel. I noticed that I was looking at a 4th gen howto so here’s one specifically for the 5th gen.
Use a flathead to pop off the screw cover in the armrest handle, remove screw. Towards the front of the door, remove the round screw cover and remove that screw.
I stuck a flathead near the base of the power window console frame and gently popped it up. Pulled it up and out, removed the wire harnesses.
I used the flathead to pry away the door handle frame starting from the bottom going up the rear.
I also popped out the puddle lamp on the door and removed the wire harness.
I rolled the windows down for easier access. Stuck a flathead in the slot where the window goes, and pried the rear section of the panel away from the door to pull the blue plugs out. There are about 6-7 of them, try not to break them.

Gently pried the door panel away using the help of the screwdriver and some force, taking the top off first, once you get all the blue plugs out, remove the wire harness that connects to the trunk and gas release levers. Put panel on the side.
Popped off the triangle piece that covers access to the bolts and wires to the side view mirror. 10mm socket will work. Unplugged the wire harness. Noticed that it wasn’t pre-wired for heater option. The replacement side view mirror fits right in as the stock one did, tightened each while making sure it was aligned on the outside.
Put everything back in reverse order. Good luck.

didn't you forget two steps? There are two screws that you need to undo. ONE on the front of the door panel near where the mirrors are ( a little bit below it) and one more in the armrest hole.
