frankencar exhaust rattle

ive had my frankencar exhaust on since 12/2004 so ive had it for quite some time. ive noticed in the last couple months that there is a rattle in the muffler section of the exhaust. is anyone else having this issue and how did you resolve it? thanks for the input

it's probably touching one of several points (heat shield, frame member), since the FC muffler is slightly larger than the stock.

Make sure you use some hose clamps to "strengthen" the exhaust hangers and position the muffler not to hit anything....

Go with the hose clamps. You will ahve to tighten them every now and them because they loosen a little every now and then.

oh ive been thru that plenty of times. i have a bunch of hose clamps on it. i made sure its not touching the heat shields and all that. i had a chance to put it up on the lift and tap the exhaust at several spots. the rattle is noticeable when the exhaust is cold, once it warmed up it goes away, but now it rattles when its hot. soo annoying.. it sounds like inside the muffler itself.

If it bothers you that much, I'll be glad to take it off your hands

+1 on the hose clamps, they worked on my buddy's car.

It might be internal to the muffler. I got an exhaust from Warpspeed (a terrible mistake to begin with) and less than 2 years after it was installed the muffler began to rattle. It wasn't hitting anything, the inside of the muffler was rattling in the casing. Still does it today (especially when cold) and it sounds terrible.
