you must be bleeding it incorrectly. When bleeding the brakes the first time, did you suck air into the master cylinder by allowing the fluid reservoir to get too low? Check your brake lines and all the connections and make sure you're not losing any fluid. Try bleeding them again to get the pedal to firm up...bleed from the right rear corner to the left rear to right front to left front.

a wild guess... ur abs? im not sure wat u problem could be... but if ur bleeding bleed from the furthest caliper to the closest caliper to the master cylinder... (r-r, r-l, f-r, f-l) and then i am assuming the abs

did you use used calipers? its possible that one of them might be seized. try bleeding it again and then if it still soft, what you can do is use a pair of vice grips and clamp off 1 of the brake lines by the caliper. step on brake pedal and see if its still soft. do that for both the left and right side and whichever one you clamp off and the pedal is still soft, its the opposite side, meaning if you clamp the right side brake line and the pedal stays soft, then that means your left side caliper may be siezed

wow, first of all do us a favor and use some punctuation.
u have to bleed brakes properly. when you install the master cylinder, you are supposed to fill it up with brake fluid while it's plugged, then connect the lines. of course fluid will leak out, but that way, you have no air in the system. then bleed
if u can't do it, bring it to a shop and tell them to do a brake fluid flush; they swap out all of your current brake fluid and tell them to put BG DOT 4 Brake Flush in to replace it.

Wow, first of all do us a favor and capitalize the first letter of each sentence.

Don't forget to unplug the ABS fuse before you start and pump the brake (with car off) several times to "release" the ABS motor before you start the bleeding procedure.

Vice grips on brake lines? Ouch! Many old techs do but it's recomended against that. You are supposed to "treat them as metal lines"
Besides a seized caliper would not have a soft/mushy pedal. It's will actually either be the same or harder if anything. Mushy pedal means air in the system as air is compressable. Fluid is not.
Now if you replaced the master cylinder yourself did you bench bleed it? If not it will be preety hard to bleed it.
With brake hydraulics i would recommend to take it to a licenced mechanic. They will need to be bled and there are 3 different ways to do it. One is vacum assisted where you need a compressor and a vacum bleeder, second is the 2 man operation, one pump one wrenching, and third you can do by yourself. brake line hose submerged in brake fluid in a water bottle and other end to bleeder screw. make sure reservoir full. Loosen off the screw and go press the brake pedal few times and then tighten the bleeder screw and then pull the hose off. No air will go in as other end is submerged in fluid. so if anything goes up the hose is brake fluid as well.
Start with furthest wheel to closest. So RightRear then LR then RF then LF.

Bleed the brakes again. You'll eventually get pressure. Do it in the correct order.

I gotta thank Irish44 as all of his threads/info were great in getting this done

does the car have to be on or off when you bleed? i just did the 6th gen upgrade and i bled the brakes already, but it still seems soft.
