I went through a bunch of threads already and I finally decided that I will get a molded dash kit for my 2000 Max (auto). I was looking at this kit:
http://www.wooddashexperts.com/custo...cat=762&page=1

However, it only comes in 9 pieces. I wanted to get three other pieces that is only offered in the kit for the 02 Max: http://www.wooddashexperts.com/custo...cat=761&page=1

I wanted to get the instument cluster piece, the clock and the cupholder piece. I wasn't sure if those three pieces from the 2002 kit will fit my 00 max. From looking at it...it seems like it would fit. Does anyone know for sure...just wanted to find out before I order the kit and extra pieces.

I am definitely gonna get the 9 piece but I wanted the extra three pieces from the 2002 kit to match. I'm in the process of taking off the wood kit that was in my car (flat kit) and I noticed that it left the instrument cluster and clock part and cup holder part a little discolored. I wanted to cover them up.

So far....8 hrs later and I took off most of the wood in my car. I will post pic when i am finished. I took my time and took it off cleanly so I could sell the wood kit.

Hey Soonerfan.... you were quick with that reply. I know your a big fan of this kit from the millions of threads I've searched through. I saw the pic you had and it looks sweet. i also have a black interior.

SO the instrument cluster piece and the clocck would fit with no problems? How is the cupholder piece different and how would I be able to make it fit?

the other pieces will fit.
the area around the latch for the cupholder covers is different. the 02/03 has a button and there is a cut-out on the cover for that. the 00/01 doesnt have that.

ones flat...the other is molded
the molded one is better because its molded to fit the curves of certain pieces (door trip). the flat kit is flat and doesnt curve around the edges

Hey Sooner,

What kinda material is that molded kit made of? Just wondering if I would be able to really cut through the material cleanly to fit my 00 cup holder lid. From your picture it seems like I would have a cut a 3 inch chunk off the 2002 piece.
