Need help w/ P1320. Beyond just coil packs and have searched.

I have been reading about this issue for around 2 hours and I have not found anything that describes what I am experiencing. My car will only show pending code P1320 and will never actually trigger it. The coil packs are all just fine, silver top and new and the plugs have recently been changed to NGK platinum.

The car is a 2000 with 132,000 miles on it. The problem is it has really rough idle, drops to around 500 or less, and runs like it is about to die. The issue only happens when the car is in gear and when it is in open loop mode. Once the car has been driven for a little while I have no issues at all. I have also hot started it to see if that makes a difference and it doesn't the car continues to run just fine. I am stumped on this. I will be cleaning the IAC and MAF, hopefully this weekend, to see if that will help at all. Does anyone have an idea as to what it might be? Thanks.

I just found this while reading about something else. Could this cause a P1320 to be pending?

agreed could be possible maf sensor, double check coil connections and are you sure something like this isnt going on ? Customer Symptom: The MIL is on.
Incident Description: DTC P1320, Ignition Signal is stored in self diagnosis memory.
Root Cause: ECM connector loose.
Service Procedure: The DTC was erased but returned. Found the ECM connector was not fully seated. Re-seated the ECM connector to resolve the incident.

Source: TECH LINE, Nissan North America
maybe your code is an old stored code
also your going to run richer when your in closed loop on startup, what is your base idle set at???

I replaced the upper intake manifold gasket on my buddy's 2000 Max about a year ago. He was having the exact same symptoms. The new redesigned gasket from Nissan totally fixed the issue.

Thanks guys. The MAF should be just fine, it is OEM and only about 30,000 miles old. I know that it could have gone bad, however, there are no codes being thrown. It is only pending. The problem started before I did the plug install and I double checked all of the connections on the coils.

Onto the carb cleaner. Do you know if it will work when the car has been warmed up? I am afraid that the gasket will expand and not allow any cleaner to get into the opening. Also how involved is a intake gasket swap? I am used to older american muscle so the intakes are pretty easy to get to.

Great. Thanks for the information I will be trying it tomorrow morning as long as we do not get 18" of snow, at least that is what they are predicting.
