I dont believe you will see the words "not coated" in this thread because this was not Hotshots thread to begin with. I could be wrong.

I am getting mine done locally...

"ceramic coating service"

Jet Hot
HP Coatings
and at least 2 or 3 more will come up... the all run close to the same price but you have to ship a 28 lb box half way across the country
AND the y-pipe costs extra...

I would not bother spending that much to get them coated...

Even with the coating they will rust, it just slows it a bit.

Anyway, I would get the best quality hightemp paint you can, prep very well and spay them yourself.

Just an FYI for you guys who just got them in... DO NOT use the manifold gaskets and Main Catt gasket that comes with the HotShots. Re-use the OEM metal gaskets.

The crappy gaskets they send will fail in no time at all. The copper ones for the y-pipe are good though.

The stock manifold gaskets can be re-used no prob? (as long as you take care removing them) I am throwing out my 71k 3.0 that popped it's cork and putting in a 16k 3.0 so I'll probably go with the lower mileage gaskets. But would hate to think I saved a few bucks re-using the originals and had to mess with that rear header again

Thanks for the advice!

Here are mine:

They clearly are NOT coated. I'm debating whether or not to coat them or if it would be just as good to spray them with a good hi-temp paint.

They can be used again no problem, if you do want new ones for peace of mind, go to the dealer and get 2002-2003 gaskets NOT 2000-2001's... For whatever reason the VQ30's list for much more than the VQ35's and they are the same F'ing gasket.

I got new ones from Dave B when I installed my Cattmans, I did not feel comfortable using the same gasket on three different sets of manifolds.

Get a good metal cleaner & rust neut, clean them up REALLY good and paint them in hightemp paint... For what it cost for the ceramic coating, it is a waste of money IMO.

coating isnt for rust, its for heat retention. High temp paint does nothing for that.
